These are the remarkable individuals who know my work in leadership and leadership capacity and bring their own special insights and experiences. I would commend each of them to work with your school, district, or regional agency.
Jose Lopez, Ph.D., is former Chair and serves as a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at CSUH. Dr. Lopez has been a principal and district administrator at the elementary and middle school levels in a large urban district. Most recently he was an area superintendent and superintendent in Texas. He has served as consultant for school and district reform. His current work includes coaching and mentoring practicing administrators as well as teaching administrative interns. Dr. Lopez lives in Hayward, California.

Ray Garcia, Ph.D., has over 27 years of experience in the field of education. He is currently an associate professor in educational leadership at California State University, Hayward. Past experiences include: dean of a corporate university, chief academic officer, executive director for information technology, director of accountability, director of staff development, knowledge and evaluation manager for a non-profit foundation, principal and teacher.
Ray consults with school districts throughout the country in the areas of building leadership capacity and cultural beliefs in order to transform entrenched organizational patterns through practical approaches to sustained school improvement. Ray's writings, research and teaching have especially included at risk student interventions and achieving equity and excellence in urban settings.

Anne Conzemius is former Assistant Superintendent of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and Director of Employee Development and Training for the State of Wisconsin. She has a Masters in Educational Psychology and Industrial Relations. She serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Graduate School of Education at Hamline University, and is a faculty member for the Masters of Educational Leadership Program at Cardinal Stritch University. She co-authored the books Building Shared Responsibility for Student Learning (ASCD, 2001) and The Handbook for SMART School Teams (NES, 2002). She is also a cofounder of QLD Learning.

Jan O'Neill has her Masters in Public Policy and Administration. She is an Early Childhood, Elementary and Middle School teacher, and a pioneer in applying quality principles in municipal and state government. Julie Biddle, Ph.D., is President of the Learning Community Project, a non-profit educational organization and Director of the Accelerated Schools Center -- Ohio. She facilitates strategic planning and various trainings with preschool through middle school personnel. This work focuses on building leadership capacity and enhancing student learning. She coaches a network of schools in their school improvement efforts. One of these schools is featured in Linda Lambert's study on high leadership capacity schools. For the past eight years Julie has lead a leadership institute for school teams in the Midwest. She has experience as an early childhood and elementary school teacher and administrator as well as adjunct early childhood faculty member. Her teaching and consulting work has been in rural, suburban, and urban schools districts.

Elizabeth Orozco Reilly, Ed. D., is Associate Professor of Educational Leadership, Administration, and Policy in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University. She teaches graduate courses and presents professional development programs ranging from educational leadership to curriculum and instruction. Dr. Reilly holds a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a doctoral degree in Organization and Leadership. She has served in K-12 leadership positions from the site through the district level. Prior to her faculty position at Pepperdine, Dr. Reilly coordinated the establishment of the Joint Doctoral Program in Leadership for Educational Equity for University of California, Berkeley; California State University, Hayward; San Francisco State University; and San Jose State University. A veteran national consultant, Dr. Reilly works with schools, districts, and state departments of education to build the leadership capacity of each individual and organization. She and her family live in Malibu, California.

William Bragg, Ph.D., is currently Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Chapman University in Orange California. He has a doctorate in Leadership and Human Behavior. Dr. Bragg has served as a teacher, a principal and district administrator. Most recently he served for nine years as superintendent of the Cupertino Union School District in Northern California. In Cupertino, he systematically developed district wide leadership capacity. School-based, skillful leadership teams designed and coordinated school efforts, while a new, non-linear district design changed the conversations and refocused results for both children and adults. This pioneering work is included in Lambert's Leadership Capacity for Lasting School Improvement (2003). At Chapman, Bill has continued his work in the developing a systems approach in building leadership capacity as a foundation t preparing the next generation of educational leaders. He currently is working on his first book, Collective Leadership and Organizational Change. Bill's heart belongs to both education and music.
